Reiki is a universal life energy, a Japanese word of two syllables:

Rei (Ray) Universal Spirit and Ki (Key) Life Energy. Therefore Reiki means Universal Life Energy. The energy of life is all around us and flows through us.

Connecting with God/Divine, laying comfortably on a massage table comforted with a soft blanket and listening to relaxation music, using a hands-on healing modality (whilst fully clothed). 

Allowing energy from God/Divine to flow through you the spiritual soul to encourage emotional or physical healing, shifting blocked energy/energies for what is needed for you and your highest good.
